President spoke before the opinion of the Constitutional Court on the reforms to the Law of Communication
The Constitutional Court resolved to partially accept the objection for unconstitutionality presented by President Guillermo Lasso against the reforms to the Organic Law of Communication.

Constitutional Court accepted 12 of 18 objections that the President presented to the reforms to the Communication Law.
12 of the 18 objections presented by Guillermo Lasso were accepted by the Constitutional Court and refer to articles 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 35, 41 and 43 regarding proper law, 50 and 53 of the aforementioned Project.
In addition, regarding the Third Transitory Provision and the Second Reformatory Provision of the project, the Constitutional Court determined that they are a direct consequence of article 35 of the Reformatory Law and, therefore, declared their incompatibility with the Constitution.
Lasso spoke about it and pointed out that “Today our fight gives results. The ruling of the Constitutional Court supports our commitment to guarantee a free press.”
After the resolution of the Constitutional Court, the Assembly must make the necessary changes to adapt to the observations of the entity and subsequently send the reformatory project to the President for sanction.
