Private banks earned $ 131.5 million between January and May

Private banks recorded a net profit of $ 131’565.000 between January and May this year, an increase of 7.8% over the same months of 2014 ($ 122’009.000).

Banco Pichincha (25.14%), Pacifico (17.07%), Guayaquil (13.96%) and Internacional (10.33%) had highest profits of $ 33 million, $ 22.4 million, $ 18, 3 million and $ 13.5 million respectively. The four banks concentrate the 66.5% of net profits of the system, indicates the Superintendency of Banks and Insurance.

The SBS report mentions that the Del Bank reported earnings of $ 30,450 in the analyzed period, Commercial Manabi $ 11,840, while Cofiec and Finca Bank accumulated losses by $ 42,820 and $ 725,660, respectively.
