Progressive lefts “United” organization was presented in Quito
The “United” Movement, an organization composed of 15 political parties, was officially launched on the night of September 18 in the Theater of the Culture House in Quito. This project was created as a unit of the progressive, democratic and revolutionary forces.
In the event were present President Rafael Correa along with the Vice President Jorge Glas, the Executive Secretary of PAIS, Doris Soliz, and leaders of other political groups.
Soliz, during her speech, said that the challenge of “United” is to promote all contributions and proposals of each organization. These are : Partido Socialista-Frente Amplio (PSFA); Movimiento Autónomo Regional (MAR); Avanza; Centro Democrático; Unidad Primero; Juventud Comunista of Ecuador; Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionario; Alfaro Vive Carajo; Movement CONDUCE; Amazonía Vive Front; Comunista Party; Alianza PAIS; Pachakutik Chimborazo; Acción Regional por la Equidad (ARE) y Movimiento Agrario de Integración San Miguel (MAIS).
One of the first leaders to address to the public was the founder of the Movement ARE and Mayor of Loja, Bolívar Castillo. The leader said that changes based on equity motivated them to support the project promoted by Alianza PAIS from its inception.
