Qatar plans to invest in Ecuador

The bilateral agreements that were negotiated during the visit of President Rafael Correa to Qatar would focus on selling products that are grown in Ecuador, like bananas, mango and pineapple.
“There are chances that we can export, including the logistics freight and interesting margins remain. We have met with the authorities of public and private imports sector from there (Qatar) to set fees, permits, etc.,” said Henry Kronfle, President of the Chamber of Industries of Guayas (CIG), who also went on the tour.
Kronfle said that Qatar also wants to invest in oil exploration and exploitation, liquefied gas and in the real estate sector in which they are willing to renovate buildings and develop the hotel sector.
