Queen Sofia will turn 75 without celebrations

The Spanish queen will be 75 years old, within the different scandals that the crown of this country is currenthy facing and besides the convalescence  of king Juan Carlos, after his last hip operation.

Sources said the birthday  will be celebrated among family with an unpretentious reunion.

Although it has not been confirmed the presence of all the royal family, it means, the King, the Prince of Asturias, their daughters Leonor and Sofia, and the daughters of kings, the Princesses Elena and Cristina, who lives in Switzerland with his family and faces a lawsuit for the alleged corruption case which involves her husband.

Queen Sofia was born in Athens on November 2, 1938. Daughter of the kings of Greece Paul and Frederika, and married to Prince Juan Carlos at the Greek’s capital on May 14, 1962 by Orthodox and Catholic rites.

As Queen, Sofía has played an impeccable role as an advocate for organizations dedicated to solidarity, including  the Queen Sofia Foundation and the promotion of culture in all its aspects.
