Queen Sofia will visit projects in Guatemala

The Queen Sofía de España arrived yesterday to Guatemala for a four-day official visit in order to learn about development projects in  this country, according to the official agenda.

On Tuesday she will meet with the President, Otto Pérez. The President invited the Queen to visit this country more than one year ago, during his official visit to Spain. The Queen will be accompanied by the Secretary of State of cooperation for Latin America, Jesús Gracia.

She will also visit the Training Center of Spanish cooperation, where she will attend a seminar closing on 25 years of presence of the Spanish Agency of international cooperation for development (Aecid) in Guatemala. In addition she will visit the impoverished Chortí region, in the East of the country, to meet a disabled care centre managed by a Spanish association dedicated to bean marketing.
