In an interview with Ecuavisa, the prefect of Zamora Chinchipe, Salvador Quishpe, one of the leaders who leads the indigenous march, said that what they want is “respect for the Constitution, to stop violating the Constitution, and archive the package constitutional amendments.”
Quishpe clarified that the march has no intention to overthrow any government. “What we are asking the people through this march and these actions is to respect the order, the Constitution, the institutions, to guarantee social and political stability …” said the prefect of Zamora Chinchipe.
