Quito will celebrate August with lights, shows and guided tours
Between today and Sunday there will be 33 activities to remember the 210 years of August 10, 1809. Thirteen places in the center will host light shows. There will also be concerts and theatricalization of historical events.

The illumination of 13 emblematic spaces of the Historic Center of Quito replaces from this night the Fiesta de las Luces that the last City Hall organized as the central axis for the commemoration of August 10, 1809.
The artist Diego Narváez will perform a light performance called “Lunarte” in the Plaza Hermano Miguel, located in the San Blas sector (north entrance to the colonial town).
Meanwhile, in the Plaza del Teatro (Guayaquil and Manabí), Miguel Salomón will perform a monumental lighting show.
The party will last all this August. The 33 activities that will be carried out during the holiday as part of the evenings “La Libertad es mía” also include the municipal agenda called “August month of the Arts”.
