Posted On 16 Jul 2014

Last April, state oil company Petroecuador, responsible for transport and refinement of crude oil, already announced that due to the rehabilitation of the refinery complex asked the Ecuadorian Standardization Institute (Inen for its Spanish acronym) to authorize the variation of up to two extra and super gasoline octane .
That is, it was approved that the quality of super gasoline decreased from 92 to 90 octane and extra, from 87 to 85 octane.
Sandra Carrión representative of Petrolríos -fourth largest marketer of gasoline country- said that Petroecuador yesterday gave them a dispatch of extra gasoline quality notified, which confirmed that the octane rating was reduced from 87 to 85 octane.
