With fortnightly sit-ins and draft amendments to the Law on Social Security, various retirees associations of social security institutes, the Armed Forces and the National Police intend to counteract the “crisis” of this sector.

The Coordinator of Organizations of Ecuador Retirees yesterday brought together seven retirees representatives and dozens of its members in one of the auditoriums of the Andean University, to participate in the first convention that lasted for about seven hours, with the aim of discussing government policies to social security, and that in their opinion, is leading to a “crisis in the three institutes”.

Among their concerns is the elimination of the 40% of the state contribution to social security, so they will persist in their constitutional claim to the Law of Justice Labor, which led to this measure, so they also announce to file a lawsuit before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH).
