Religious Personalities Expressed Their Wishes for 2011
Pope Benedict XVI will give a Mass on January 10 for the World Day of Peace, there will also be unveil their predictions for 2011.
“Religious freedom, the way to peace” is the message that Pope has been spreading for the occasion of the Mass, and through which he states that “above all, we have to give peace other weapons rather than those to kill and exterminate mankind. They are necessary, especially moral weapons, to give strength and prestige to the international law.”
In Ecuador, Monsignor Antonio Arregui, president of the country’s Episcopal Conference and Archbishop of Guayaquil, declared his wishes for the coming year during a mass, “let’s pray to God for the new year to bring peace in all households in the country, the peace that has been announced at Christmas and with the responsible participation of all the Lord would grant us a significant increase in security and ability to work, especially for all young people.”
Xavier Alvarado, president of the Ecuadorian Baptist Convention and pastor of Iglesia Bautista Los Esteros, said he does not only wishes that “everything goes well,” but he ensured that people have to act in good ways to ensure a good year.
“The messages of hope and better days are common at this time, but it is important to go beyond a serious reflection on the focus of our purpose in life, and that will lead us to seek balance and peace of mind to achieve goals raised,” said Gunther Vaca, director of Public Affairs in Ecuador from Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días Church.
