Defense Minister Ricardo Patino warned yesterday to the military in active and passive service that “undermining discipline in the armed forces has consequences.”

“(…) They know the consequences of their actions. And some active duty military personnel have dared to violate the discipline … In the Armed Forces there has to be absolute discipline, loyalty, honor, courage; when someone undermines the discipline, that person has to know that it has consequences, whether they are military in active or passive service,” said yesterday Patiño to journalists in the Government House, after concluding a security cabinet with President Rafael Correa.
