Ruling party members do not change the text of the constitutional amendments
There were no changes to the text of the amendments to the Constitution analyzed by the occasional commission of the Assembly. The ruling party members responded to Antonio Gagliardo, Judge of the Constitutional Court, who said that “a coma can not be added nor removed.”
The Cambio-PSC legislator, Luis Fernando Torres, one of the two commissioners of the opposition, reiterated that the Assembly can not modify the form of the 16 amendments. “If they do that, they could be sued by unconstitutionality,” he said.
While the legislator of Avanza and allied to the ruling bloc, Bayron Pacheco, explained that there is no specific law to address the amendments. So, by analogy, the provisions of the Organic Law of the Legislative Branch is applied for the process of ordinary laws.
