Search and Rescue Group of Quito travels to Mexico to assist in emergency tasks

This morning, a group of 15 members of the Urban Search and Rescue Group (USAR for its Spanish acronym) of the Quito Fire Brigade traveled to Mexico to collaborate in the search and rescue of victims and survivors of the 7.1 M earthquake occurred Tuesday, September, 19.
According to a statement from the Department of Risk Management, this is the first time that Ecuador provides such assistance in these emergency situations, as part of the international humanitarian aid.
It informed that the group is made up of 30 members of the Fire and Rescue Corps of Quito and Guayaquil, whose specializations are: team command, planning, technical search, dog search, breaking, cutting and drilling, among others. (I)
