The Coordinator Minister of Security, Cesar Navas, denied last Friday the existence of contracts with specialized companies to remove Internet contents related to President Rafael Correa, as the BuzzFeed site reported.
“There is no basis in what these people publish, there is not any formal complaint,” and he has assured that there is no contract for such action. “This kind of media release to the public any review without any foundation.”
“The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, uses millions of dollars of the intelligence budget of his country to hire a foreign company to remove documentaries and other criticism of him or his wife on the Internet,” says the BuzzFeed report.
