Sentenced for the 30S will not accept the pardon
Posted On 02 Sep 2014
Aurelio Garófalo, defender of Luis Guanotasig, one of the sentenced to 12 years for the case of September 30, 2010, said: “We decided to radically refuse to accept the ambiguous offer of pardon by the President of the Republic”, after the offer made by the Ecuadorian president during his last weekly address.
The possibility of a pardon would be subject to two conditions: that those sentenced offer public apologies and that the families of the victims accept such apologies.
“We think the president is misinformed or not well advised. He wants to force us to assume crimes we have not committed”, Garofalo said.
