It is confirmed that Ecuador will host the Copa America Championship in 2023. That’s why it has already begun the respective studies for the modernization of  several soccer stadiums owned by the State that are in the highland cities like Ambato, Cuenca and Loja.

This information is corroborated by the sports minister, Jose Francisco Cevallos, who noted that one of the aims of the remodeling plans will be sold tickets in relation to capacity.

Already begun studies for the redevelopment of Atahualpa Stadium, which will have seating for one-person “have the real capacity of the attendees,” said Cevallos.

The minister noted that the football team needs “a modern stadium” to play, but declined to say an exact date would be remodeled when Atahualpa Stadium, because “the studies have just started.”
