Shrimp farmers aim to be the most sustainable sector

Shrimp is consolidated as the second non-oil export product. The first place is for bananas.

Ecuador has become the largest exporter of shrimp of America. The president of the Chamber of Aquaculture José Antonio Camposano affirms that 50% of the product commercialized in the continent comes from the country.

This is one of the reasons for the opening of the Aqua Expo 2017 World Conference in Guayaquil on September 25th.

In parallel, a commercial exhibition will be installed to present the local offer. This space will allow industries to exchange new technologies, services, and inputs to improve the sector.

Within the framework of the event, representatives of the industry will present a project for the Ecuadorian business to be recognized as the most sustainable in the world. This goes hand in hand with the contributions they make to the draft Fisheries Law, which promotes sustainable development. (I)
