State Attorney Garcia says that “legal remedies” will be granted to the Isaias brother for disposal of the UN

State Attorney Diego Garcia has referred to the report of the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations, in which it is determined that “legal remedies” were not granted to the Isaias brothers to defend their rights.

Garcia has said that Ecuador should comply with the opinion imposed on the Committee’s report on the “principle of good faith” of international law.

The opinion makes clear that there were no violations of human rights in the criminal trial that was established against them, political persecution was discarded, among other assertions made by the Isaias brothers before the Committee. The Committee found that there were no irregularities in the criminal trial for “embezzlement.”
