State Media met with Petroecuador to Discuss the Pipeline
Last Thursday, Rommel Tapia, Project Manager of the pipeline Pascuales–Monteverde, provided technical information about the infrastructure and the effect of residents of the coast and northwest who oppose the construction of the pipeline due to the danger of a possible accident.
The 12-inch pipeline, which will transport liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), crosses both sectors, the state company uses its right to construct on that route. However, until last July it was committed to the municipality to avoid populated areas so they are not pose “a risk to the population.”
Meanwhile the Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, said he would ask the company another report because he has received several complaints from the community twitterers who has an account on the popular social network as a protest.
