Talking with Lilian Tintori in Ecuador
Posted On 21 Mar 2017

My plans were going to Ecuador so that Rafael Correa reflects and calls for the freedom of Leopoldo Lopez. How is it possible that he has not demanded the freedom of an innocent man and has not rejected the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela? My plans also included to call on Ecuadorians to support the implementation of the Democratic Charter as an alert mechanism for there to be elections this year and the dictatorship stops in my country.
I believe in the leaders who respect human rights. And today the leaders of the world are dealing with a dictatorial or with a liberating process. I do not want that Ecuador suffers the same as Venezuela. And as a human rights activist, I have a responsibility to say, to comment and to recommend. And my recommendations for Ecuador were simply: fight for your freedom.”
