Taxis Will Have a Panic Button
Posted On 28 Dec 2010
Guayas Taxi Union (UTG) is conducting a safety campaign to fight against crime.
UTG announced on Tuesday the installation of a panic button that will link the units with the National Police; 300 units already have it.
After the activation of the button, the Police will sent an immediate response (3 to 5 minutes) to the site where the unit is.
For the next week is expected the button to be already placed in the 12,000 taxis of the 138 registered cooperatives in the province.
