The prosecution yesterday gave a surprise with a revelation: the college degree of the lawyer of the president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) records inconsistencies.
That is one of 366 documents denounced as irregular and belongs to Lucia Vallecilla, former defence lawyer of two directors of the FEF investigated for alleged money laundering in the Ecuafutbol case.

Vallecilla represented the head of the Federation during the formulation of indictments held on December 5. Her performance could cause the annulment of the procedure, according to prosecutor Galo Chiriboga. The judge in the case is Ana Lucia Cevallos, but who led the indictments was Diana Alban. The prosecutor planned to request a hearing to resolve this uncertainty.

Vallecilla´s name is included in the list of 366 cases that Rene Ramirez, head of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt), gave to Attorney General Chiriboga.
Ramirez explained that most of those degrees (see graph) correspond to legal practitioners. Among them there are civil servants. The institutions to which they belong will receive information to take action. (I)
