The Citizen Participation Council wants to join Odebrecht´s investigation

The Council for Citizen Participation reported that “it ordered the Secretariat of Transparency and Fight against Corruption (internal area of the Council) to initiate the necessary actions to support the Odebrecht Prosecutor’s investigation, denounced in the media.”
Its argument: to “optimize and articulate efforts.”
At dawn hours of last Thursday, the Attorney General´s staff raided the offices of the Brazilian company in Guayaquil, after that on December 21, 2016, a report of the Department of Justice of the United States was made public that indicated an alleged payment of $ 33.5 million by Odebrecht to Ecuadorian officials between 2007 and 2016.
President Rafael Correa, during the weekend, released videos related to the transnational. One in which he expresses his annoyance by the breach of works in the San Francisco hydroelectric plant; Another, in which he clarified that “supplementary contracts are not overpriced,” on allegations of alleged “overcharges” in the Manduriacu works.
