The CONAIE will join to the workers march

movimiento-indigena- conaie-marchaThe CONAIE met yesterday to discuss the current issues of national politics, including the labor mobilization for next Wednesday, convened by the United Workers Front (FUT for its Spanish acronym) and which they will take part in.

Jorge Herrera, President of CONAIE, said that it is needed to work in a united and coordinated way.

Among the indigenous leaders who were part of the event are: Franco Viteri, Sixto Yaguachi, Nina Pacari and Fanny Campos, National Coordinator of Pachakutik.

The delegates agreed to participate in the workers march to show their opposition to the government policies, mainly in the areas of the water law and the draft Land Law, the trade agreement with the European Union and indigenous justice.
