The Cpccs spent USD 453 209 in appointing authorities

Article 207 of the Constitution established the Cpccs is the body authorized to select the Public Defender, the Ombudsman, the Attorney General and the Comptroller General. It is also in charge of the appointment of members of the National Electoral Council, the Electoral Court, the Judicial Council and members of the National Equality Councils.
The appointment of state authorities is done through citizen selection commissions that are made up of 10 members. Five representatives are from civil society and five are state officials. Between 2012 and 2017, the Cpccs spent at least USD 453 209 for selection processes. (I)
