The disappointment of Unidos Podemos crossed the pond and reached Ecuador
Posted On 27 Jun 2016
The disappointment of Unidos Podemos (Together We Can) group after the results of the general elections today also arrived in Ecuador, where a circle of the collective expected other figures.
A group of activists gathered at a political seat of a leftist party in Quito to monitor, through the internet and television the incidents of election day. In the end, pieces of pizza, empty soft drinks, serious faces and weary eyes remained at the table in which several Spaniards who are part of this political circle expected more.
Alex Flores, an Ecuadorian who emigrated to Spain in the past but returned to his country, is part of that group.
“Now we must continue working for the coalition” and the “difficult circumstances of the Spanish community abroad,” Flores told Efe after recognizing that the vigil to follow the election day was long.
The results “have not been what we expected, the most satisfactory, but they are still important for Podemos and the coalition,” he added and said: “We have to wait for the reaction of the Working Socialist Spanish Party” (PSOE).(I)
