The Dubai World construction company, Drydocks World, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Swiss company BIG InvestConsult AG to start the project of the first underwater hotel in the world.
According to the document, Drydocks World becomes the sole executor of the futuristic hotel that would be called ‘Water Discus Hotel‘.
The ‘Water Discus Hotel’ is a project under development and will count with 21 rooms under the water while the rest of the hotel would be over the sea.
The hotel’s main structure would be two discs, one on water and other submerged, connected by three supports for elevators and escalators which will allow the circulation of guests.
The rooms will have underwater wide windows and special illumination to see the marine biodiversity.
The company providing the technology, Deep Ocean Technology, says the hotel will help meet the desire of many travelers that want to explore the depths of the ocean without having to learn how to dive. (ARL)
