Everything is in perfect condition in the Jumandy airport, which is located 38 kilometers from the center of Tena, in Napo. It was inaugurated in 2011 by President Rafael Correa.
This is one of six air terminals, which were built or remodeled by the State. All with an investment of more than $ 200 million (see chart).
Jumandy, in Tena and Santa Rosa, in El Oro, has new infrastructure. The airports of Latacunga, in Cotopaxi; Cumbaratza in Zamora; Crnel. Carlos Concha, in Esmeraldas, and Gral. Ulpiano Paez in Santa Elena, were rehabilitated. The Catamayo terminal, in Loja, is scheduled to be inaugurated soon.
According to a statement that appears in the website of the Ministry of Public Works, $ 64 million more were invested in airport navigation. In numbers, the operation of those airports has not proved profitable. Tame stopped flying to Tena, in December. The reason? It was operating at a loss
