Posted On 11 Jul 2017

Ecuadornews:

Requests are heard little by little. The Ministry of Labor initiated initial reforms to approach the widely offered “labor revitalization.” Yesterday, six agreements were submitted.
Labor Minister Raul Ledesma announced the changes but warned that the most acclaimed is still being cooked: the new contract modalities. These issues will be discussed in the advisory council of production. An example of this are the new models for the tourism sector.
Among the announcements, the government has confirmed the payment of $ 150 million to the most vulnerable pensioners. The rest would receive up to 30% in bonds.
Controls on the number of disabled people working in companies, rules for inspections, new deadlines, new legal reforms, regularization for interns, digital processes for the upload of internal regulations of companies on the system and the creation of a Labor Mediation Unit in the Regional Directorate of Labor and Public Service of Guayaquil are some of these labor reforms.
