The National Mining Company and Cementera del Ecuador will be closed until the end of the year; Fabrec will be relocated

The Coordinating Public Company (Emco-EP) aims to finish the year with a cost reduction of USD 180 million, a figure above the USD 50 million it saved in 2016.

Emco-EP President Jorge Wated announces it Wednesday, September 13, 2017. These declarations were made in the framework of the opening of the 2nd Business Roundtable between public and private companies.

Wated indicated that several strategies are deployed to achieve this objective. The main one is the elimination of public enterprises until the end of this year: Minera Nacional de Ecuador (Enamiep) and Cementera del Ecuador (mining and cement companies respectively).

He also said that Fabricamos Ecuador (Fabrec) will be relocated and that the organizational structures of all public enterprises will be reviewed. Besides, the elimination of the vacancies and the implementation of services and products is taking place. (I)
