The Pacific Refinery bought its lands for half price
The Pacific Refinery pronounced yesterday on the complaint over the excessive overprice paid in the purchase of lands, that was filed on Thursday by the so called Anti-Corruption Commission. Through a statement,
Through a statement, it believes that the government´s opposition seeks to “scandalize the country with complaints that are untrue and only have the aim of generating outrage among Ecuadorians.”
Before the allegation that a price 55 times higher than the value of the land was paid, it states that the property´s purchase contract (1,347.5 hectares area), entered into by the Pacific Refinery and Carlos Gonzalez Artigas, took as reference the 2009 appraisal of the Municipality of Montecristi, which determined “the value of a dollar per square meter, making a total of 13 million 475 thousand US dollars for the property.”
