The pre-opening of the pedestrian bridge to the Santay island is ready
Tomorrow at 09h30 the footbridge that links the Santay island with Guayaquil will opened to the public. With this access, tourists can walk or bike to the island, the ecovillage and the `cocodrilera.´
The Governor of Guayas, Rolando Panchana, ratified the pre-opening during a tour yesterday to check the work progress in the sector.
“There is no access because the work is not opened to the public. Until yesterday (Saturday ) there were motor boat rides.The pier is being adapted and we can not let people enter because there are men working,” said Panchana .
The access to this bridge is located in El Oro street, near the Milling Industry Noboa, where details of the work were arranged yesterday. On the walls of the square that located in the entrance, colorful murals with island species could be observed. they day culminated with the placement of plants.
One block before La Ría street, in the intersection with El Oro street, the building tha belonged to HG Laboratories, which was held by the National Financial Corporation, was demolished. A parking lot for 68 vehicles will be built there.
“I live here in the south and this work enriches this area of the city. When this work is open I plan to come with my family,” said Juanita Valverde, dweller of the sector.
