The Consultative, Productive and Tax Council, which will be installed this Thursday, will be key for representatives of the unions of the productive sectors to raise their proposals, especially in labor and tax issues, in order to generate employment and revive the economy of the country.
The president of the Association of Textile Industries of Ecuador (AITE) Javier Diaz stressed the need to recover the fixed-term contract. “We can not continue with a test contract, that later becomes indefinite; Even the workers themselves are suffering the consequences of that change,” he said.
Iván Nolivos, a lawyer specializing in labor issues, considers it is important that the Labor Code is reformed to reinstall the figure of the fixed-term contract, which was once “good and generated employment.” (I)
