The reelection decision depends on the people according to Ramirez

During an interview, Rene Ramirez, National Secretary of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Senescyt) and member of the Alianza PAIS party, spoke on various issues among which are the results of the elections, the government draft and the possible reelection of Rafael Correa.

About the results of the last election, Ramirez stated that is a fundamental subject in which they have to work from the citizen’s revolution to build the Alianza País movement, ensuring that organizations are not built with marketing which was visualized in the elections of February 23.

Regarding the Government draft, he noted that the point is to make irreversible the political project of the citizens revolution. “I mean, to constitutionalize the society, that is our horizon, that is the pact of coexistence,” he said.

In terms of the constitution reform and possible re-election of Correa, Ramirez said that despite having the force in the Assembly to promote such reform, in the end “the one who will ratify is the Ecuadorian people.”

Likewise, he opined that it would be healthy to lean forward periods of eight, four, eight years, four, this means, re-election with a period of alternation.
