The Sun Comes Out for Shakira
During South Africa world cup, we became addicted to the Waka Waka song. Shakira’s voice was on every radio station.
“Waka Waka brought so much joy to my life…everything has meaning, even more than last year,” said the Barranquilla singer.
Shakira’s new album, “The Sun Comes Out”, will be out for sale since October 19th. The Colombian soloist will give a concert in Madrid; this is going to be the first of the three concerts she’s going to give in Spain.
The new album will be available in English and Spanish. Shakira admits she has returned to her roots in this record. She became inspired by old tunes she used to listen as a teenager. “Lo que mas” and “Rabiosa” have salsa and merengue rhythms, there are other songs influenced by The Cure, Nirvana and Metallica.
The album includes the Spanish version of Waka Waka. “This album feels like home,” said the singer.
Shakira confessed she has experimented with many musical genders during her career as a singer but “The Sun Comes Out” is exactly what she likes. “Sale el sol” and “Antes de las seis” are her favorite songs. “I can hear them all day long and never get tired of them,” she added.
“I’m here for you to like me. I feel closer to my fans in this stage,” she said in a concert she gave in Madison Square Garden.
