The unusual parallel investigation in Montañita

The families of the two murdered Argentines arrived to Ecuador in order to recuperate their bodies. But they are also realizing their own investigation, in an attempt to belie the Ecuadorian official version provided by the authorities, who solved the case in less that 24 hours.

They count on the full support of the Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, who said that he agreed to the foreign collaboration even though “it could be considered offensive to the country”. The General Attorney, Galo Chiriboga, is another providing support, and who also announced that they will work with Colombian experts. Other officers providing help to the families is José Serrano, the Interior Ministry, and Victor Aráuz, Dinased chief of police – who managed face to face, all the complaints from the victims’ families.
