Thousands protest in Cuenca against the proclamation of Lenin Moreno

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in the center of Cuenca to protest against “the electoral fraud” hours after the National Electoral Council proclaimed the triumph of the ruling party candidate Lenin Moreno.

the demonstrators reached the headquarters of the Electoral Council after waiting for Guillermo Lasso, who would arrive to preside over the march.

When they learned that he would not arrive, they continued, in company of the Governor of Azuay, Paul Carrasco. The police protected the seat of the Electoral Council, although the march was peaceful.
