Three judges in the Cerveceria case are judged
Posted On 03 Mar 2016
The prosecution of three former judges of the Court of Guayas has began at the National Court. They are accused of alleged malfeasance. They issued a ruling in favor of outsourced workers from the Cerveceria Nacional (National Brewery company) in 2011.
The plaintiffs demanded 90 million dollars for profits they claim they did not receive between 1990 and 2005.
For Attorney General Galo Chiriboga, this is “one of the most notorious cases of corruption.” According to him, the judges acted without jurisdiction and, through a protective action, they ordered the payment of labor rights.
