Trenching borders between Ecuador and Colombia are passable again
Posted On 30 Jul 2014
In the community of La Pintada (Ecuador) bordering with Yaramal (Colombia) the three trenches that were built since January to prevent smuggling, are enabled again.
According to locals, unknown persons placed stones and dust in a part of the channel, so that cargo vehicles could drive.
Carlos Yaguarpaz, President of the Community Action Board of Llano Grande, in Colombia, said: “vehicles with illegal cargo pass through here”.
This is one of the three gates that were closed in September after the agreement between Presidents Rafael Correa and Juan Manuel Santos.
