Two agencies are investigating the reverse auction of medicines
In the process of reverse auction of drugs, the Superintendency of Market Power Control (SCPM for its Spanish acronym) detected alleged irregularities in participating companies. It currently investigates alleged anti-competitive practices and does not rule out finding after the investigation process, crimes against the state. The details are kept confidential. The head of the SCPM, Pedro Paez, talked with daily El Comercio, who had signature sheets in his possession, which were identified as having relations with each other.
“I have in my hands a print of the Superintendency of Companies that speaks of Limerickpharma, Ginsberg and Sionpharm case, but this is not the only case.” The Public Procurement Service (Sercop) reported that 416 drugs were auctioned at a cost of USD 220 million. Daily El Comercio had access to information about 78 winners of the first 381 drugs award, for $ 118.5 million.
