Two Ecuadorians are willing to embark on a one way trip to Mars
Jonathan, with 18 years old, and José Andres with 19 enrolled in the project of a human settlement on Mars within the project Mars One that invites people to join the mission, but is a one way trip.
To choose the colonists on the red planet the Organization made a global call by Internet and already enrolled 17.324 Americans, 10.241 Chinese, 3,581 from the United Kingdom, 16 Brazilians, 11 Spaniards, 5 Argentineans, 4 Chileans, 5 Colombians and 1 Peruvian.
In his inscription, Jonathan claims to be very adventurous. He also qualifies himself as a person interested in the mysteries of physics and the universe. He expresses he has a very agile mind, he is athletic and with great capacity for assimilating theory and method.
Jose Andres, who is a student of industrial engineering, said that when he was 12 years old he helped his father to recycle and repair computers.
Future colonists on Mars will be selected by the year 2015 and will be preparing for seven years for the mission. Mars One plans to create a replica of the human settlement in a cold and desolate place on Earth and is funded from the sale of rights of reality show of the selection process.
By 2016 will reach Mars the first unmanned mission with the materials to build the colony and in the 2023 is expected the arrival to Mars of the first group of astronauts.
