UN Agency Approves Super Hi-Vision 8K TV
Posted On 26 Aug 2012
Recently the UN’s communication standards setting agency approved a new high-resolutions television format. This new technology broadcasts 8K with a resolution of 7,680 by 4,320 pixels roughly the equivalent of 32 megapixel photo.
The image is 16 times sharper than the current HD TVs offering 2MP resolutions. Japanese broadcaster NHK showed the new technology during the London Olympics, where audiences said it gave them a sense of being at the events.
The company has already developed three cameras that can capture the higher resolution, it’s been called Super Hi-Vision at 60 frames per second but aims to double that to 120 frames per second. AV
