Uruguay Elections to choose the successor of Mujica began

Uruguay launched today the second round to elect its next President for the period 2015-2020. The former President from the ruling party,Tabaré Vázquez (2005-2010) is presented as the favorite against Luis Lacalle Pou from the center-right party.
Around 2.6 million Uruguayans are eligible to vote in 6,948 polling stations.
The day began with heavy rains and a weather warning for much of the country.
The voting began at 0800 local (1000 GMT) and will end at 19H30 (21H30 GMT), with an hour of overtime.
The Electoral Court expects that official results will be known on Monday morning.
