USA. authorizes private imports of Cuban entrepreneurs
Posted On 14 Feb 2015
On Friday the US government adopted the flexibilation of its commercial rules to allow the importation of goods and services produced by Cuban private entrepreneurs, a modest but priority sector of the new US policy towards La Havana.
According to the new rules, which come into force with immediate effect, the Commerce Department prepared a list of importable goods and services “produced by independent Cuban entrepreneurs” if they can demonstrate that condition.
Cuban entrepreneurs must obtain from local authorities a license to certify their private nature, ie, whose activity “is not owned or controlled either in whole or in part, by the government of Cuba.”
