Vehicles may only transit one day per week
The Government Minister, María Paula Romo , explained that starting next week the restriction on private vehicles will be even more stringent during the health emergency due to covid-19 in Ecuador.

Vehicles may only transit one day per week
“Until today, vehicles can transit, according to the final number on the license plate, two days each vehicle. Starting next week, each vehicle will only be able to travel one day a week ; It will not have a person or a plate for two days of circulation, “said the minister in an interview with the Ecuavisa channel, on the afternoon of this Friday, April 3, 2020.
Romo clarified that even with the license plate number, circulation is not free . “We have a total restriction to mobilize, we all have to be in the house. The permits to leave the house are exceptional and we are going to sanction the safe conduct more strictly. Having the pass does not mean that I can already circulate (…) In the pass it says the reason for leaving the house. If it is not verifiable, if it cannot be verified that this reason exists, they will be sanctioned . “
The measure seeks to prevent the spread of covid-19, but Romo acknowledges that ” no decision will be sufficient with indiscipline .”
During the interview, the minister acknowledged that ” we are facing a very harsh reality and that it has exceeded the capacity, not of the Government of Ecuador, of the governments of the world.”
Regarding the disposition of President Lenín Moreno to make all the figures of the health emergency transparent , Romo said that the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE) authorized the publication of a mortality bulletin in Ecuador .
“The publication, many times needs to go through several filters by the methods used, we have avoided those filters, we are going to give approximate data, with this indication that this is a preliminary report,” said the official. He added that the first will be broadcast this Friday afternoon with a cut on March 31. (I)
