Women undertake in Manabí

Croquettes, sausages and fish-based hamburgers are part of the portfolio of products produced by five women’s organizations in Manta, province of Manabí, within a pilot plant implemented by the Government. For the elaboration of these products, in which the fishing couples participate, they receive technical assistance from the Ministry of Aquaculture and Fisheries.

“This project, which we are going to replicate at the national level, seeks to increase sources of work and greater productivity,” said the minister of the sector, Ana Katuska Drouet.

The Secretary of State emphasized that the products that are elaborated in this pilot plant, and that have by mark ‘Mateos, products of the sea’, commercialize mainly in the different agricultural fairs that realizes the portfolio of State and the goal is to enter soon to the supermarket chains of the country.
