Posted On 10 Feb 2016
Tax collection in Ecuador grew by 160% in the period 2007-2015, from US $ 5 361.8 million to 13 950 million. This increase is explained by an increase in rates, the creation of taxes and modifications to existing taxes.
Currently, Ecuadorians pay 30 taxes to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), 16 more than in 2006, a year before the government of President Rafael Correa.
In these nine years taxes have created for foreign exchange outflows, assets abroad, rural lands two taxes related to the environmental promotion. These are: plastic bottles and vehicular pollution.
