The USD 3.51 fee for online shopping is in effect

The USD 3.51 fee for packages purchased in virtual stores, which are remitted through Ecuador Post Office, runs from October 1, 2017. This amount is charged on shipments of up to 2,000 grams of weight from online stores. Documents, letters or packages without commercial purposes will not be charged.
Before making this additional payment, buyers must register their packages at www.correosdelecuador.gob.ec/Avisalo. And when they receive a notification that the goods arrived in Ecuador, they will pay the tariff set. This decision was taken through a resolution of the Ecuadorian Post Office due to the saturation of online purchases. (I)
